Modesty - A Dress Code for the Bride of Yeshua

I would like to address here an issue that has been my concern for some years now. My concern is about the way we as belivers in Messiah dress ourselves.

I have been in a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) for 31 years. In the beginning of my walk with Messiah ( Christ) I saw other Christians going to church dressing modestly, not showing their curves and bodies. There was a respect for their bodies, and for one another, male and female. Suddenly I started to hear that we shouldn't worry with dressing modestly anyone because Jesus was looking at our hearts and not what we dressed like. Then I saw sisters going to church with skirts above the knees and low neck tops. When they sat their dresses and skirts would go up and their legs would be exposed. They wore elastic trousers and their bodies could be seen very easily. They were very attractive.

Men going to church started to struggle; they should have been concentrating on God but they were distracted by exposed female bodies , and no one could say anything, because they didn't want to offend anyone. Saying something would be considered, 'judgement'. Later I started to see women pastors and worship leaders and teams dressing the same way, with high heels, mini skirts on the stage speaking about Jesus and no one said anything. These same people would call anyone who exposed this behaviour as sin legalistic. I believe that the same God that told the priests that ministered to Him in His Holy Temple in Jerusalem to wear long tunics and linen trousers to cover their nakedness that should reach from the waist to the thighs (Exodus 28:42) is the exact same God today.

The world is so morally messed up, with sensual advertising that promotes promiscuity, church members have been corrupted by it and it starts with their leadership. THIS IS SIN.

There is a lie that needs to be uncovered and that is: 'for God there is no problem how we dress, what is important is our heart'.

If we are children of God/Elohim, the way we dress is as important as any issue in our lives including the state of our heart. This needs to be taught from our pulpits in a loving way, so repentance can come forth with change of attitude.

WE ARE THE BRIDE OF MESSIAH CALLED TO BE HOLY AS HE IS HOLY, TO LIVE OUR LIVES AS HE LIVED AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT WE PUT OUR BODIES IN DISPLAY AS THE WORLD DOES.

May The Beauty of The LORD Shine from your inner heart! :)

We would humbly appreciate that you take this in consideration when coming to any of our events by dressing in a Godly manner.

What I share with you doesn't come from a heart of judgement but with a sincere heart before The LORD seeking godliness above all in our midst as He Is The One we worship in this place.

We want the Sanctity of Beit Kodesh (House of Holiness) to be kept pure by conducting ourselves with respect for Him, His Word and for one another. The Holy Spirit is among us. Let's be holy unto Him and let Him purify our hearts.

HIS MANIFESTATION IS VERY STRONG WHEN WE HONOUR HIM THIS WAY.

With love, Yiskah
